About Us

The Carrick on Shannon Wild Words Childrens Book Festival is a special event for children and their families to  enjoy books, to meet authors, and to encourage an interest in creative writing.

While the majority of events are directed at young people aged 4 to 14, the festival also has a programme for 14 to 18 year olds who have an interest in creative writing called the Wild Words Book.

The festival is managed by a voluntary committee and it is made possible through the support of Leitrim County Council Arts Office, The Reading Room, The Dock and Leitrim Library Service.

Carrick on Shannon Wild Words Childrens Book Festival is funded by The Arts Council, Leitrim County Council, Avantcard and Vistamed.
